I'm pretty proud of how these pictures turned out. Dave took the one on the swing, and I took the others. My brother-in-law, Devin, gave us some great photography pointers. If you use a 200x zoom, you can focus on the subject while getting the background to be out of focus. It was a little tricky and it took 92 shots to get down to 2-3 great images. Part of the trickiness lies in the fact that the Calvinator does not want to hold still for pictures anymore, and prefers to dash around in constant motion, run away from the photographer, and won't smile when you say cheese. I had a little american flag for him to hold while sitting on a checkered picnic blanket, but Calvin had no interest in the flag, and was definitely not interested in sitting on the picnic blanket.
This one did not turn out so great from a technical standpoint, but I included it anyway because I like his pose.
A beautiful day in May, spent at the zoo & soaking up sun in the yard. This boy loved all of the animals at the zoo, except for the red parrot which squawked very loudly in his face and had him pretty scared.
Calvin is 17 months old! I am getting behind in blogging. I have all these great Bahamas pics that I have not posted yet.
At 17 months:
- Calvin is high-energy, running around all day, playing outside, playing with ALL of his toys, resisting naps as much as possible (he usually sleeps only 1-2 hours per day, and often that is closer to 1 hour)
